You are cordially invited to the opening of soon-to-be-Fellow Éric Van Hove: Fenduq on Saturday 2 February from 19h00 in the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden.
The Fries Museum will present a major retrospective of the oeuvre of Éric Van Hove (Algeria, 1975) from 2 February 2019 to 5 January 2020. Fenduq, the title of the exhibition, refers to his workshop in Marrakech. Together with a team of craftsmen, he transforms industrial icons into striking objects. From the smallest screw to the cylinder head, each part is copied in a specific craft technique. Van Hove’s work not only looks impressive, it also skilfully addresses the socio-economic dynamics of post-colonial society.
