The American Academy in Rome has announced the recipients of the 2023-2024 Rome Prizes and Italian Fellowships. In visual arts, Lan Tuazon (CRF 2010) was awarded the Terra Foundation Affiiated Fellowship for a Chicago-Based artist. In music composition, Kate Soper (CRF 2017) was awarded the Frederic A. Juilliard/Walter Damrosch Rome Prize.

These highly competitive fellowships support advanced independent work and research in the arts and humanities. This year, the Rome Prize was awarded to 36 American artists and scholars, who will each receive a stipend, workspace, and room and board at the Academy’s campus on the Janiculum Hill in Rome, starting in September 2023.
