Massinissa Selmani (CRF 2021) has a solo exhibition currently on view at the Index Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden. The show, “1000 Villages,” is an investigation through drawing and archives into an urban planning project initiated by the Algerian government in the 1970s. For the exhibition, Massinissa and curator Sophia Llorens interviewed “architects, filmmakers, writers, artists, sociologists, academics, journalists, and regular Algerians who had either lived through the period during which the 1000 socialist villages were being built, or had associations with a period of Algerian history that remains vivid in the nation’s collective imagination.”

The show will be accompanied by a public program, and will be up through December 22.
