Andile Khumalo, Music, South Africa (he/him)
Born in Umlazi township in southwest Durban, Dr Andile Khumalo is a senior lecturer in music theory, orchestration, and composition at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. His music studies took him to the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Durban, South Africa), to Columbia University in New York for his doctoral studies, and to the State University of Music and Performance in Stuttgart (Germany) where he received his Masters’s degree in composition under the supervision of Marco Stropp. Khumalo studied composition with Jürgen Brauninger, Fabien Levy, and Tristan Mura.

DJ Rekha, Music, USA (they/them)
DJ Rekha (born Rekha Malhotra) is producer, curator, and educator, and founder Basement Bhangra, one of NYC’s longest-running club nights (1997-2017). They perform in festivals, clubs, and community spaces worldwide and alongside artists such as M.I.A, Ali Sethi and AR Rahman. Their dynamic DJ sets incorporate South Asian Diasporic dance music with ears to a global sound that build inclusive environments of joy.  They has been featured on Broadway, NPR, Taste the Nation, Obama’s White House, Celebrate Brooklyn, and Central Park SummerStage, They live in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York.
