The first edition of Anita Thacher (CRF 2002)’s 1982 35mm slide installation Anteroom, which was featured in the artist’s solo exhibition at the gallery in 2017, has been acquired for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s Permanent Collection through a gift of the Ostrovsky Family Fund. Anita Thacher (b. New York, NY 1940, d. New York, NY 2017) was a New York artist working in multiple mediums including moving image, painting, photography, sculpture and installation. Her work addresses issues of perception and memory, both spatial and personal, and the domestic realm, among other subjects. More information about the work here.
