After the summer Fellowship season is over, Civitella opens the Castle gates to participants in our “Winter Session” tour programs. This fall, we proudly present two tours for your choosing.

Sacred Umbria Tour (November 4–14, 2019):

This 10-day tour brings participants to several sites in Umbria, “the spiritual heart of Italy” and the seat of early Christianity. In addition to visiting churches, monasteries, and the places where saints such as Francis and Clare lived and prayed, we will see some extraordinary 15th century art, such as the works of Piero della Francesca.

Please email tour leader Lynne Kozlowski (lynne.kozlowski@gmail.com) or Program Coordinator Molly Lapointe (molly@civitella.org) for more details.

Ways of Seeing Photography Tour (November 14-23, 2019):

This 10-day tour, lead by the International Center of Photography faculty member Sally Gall, will help you take the next step on your artistic journey. We will visit the ancient towns of Umbertide, Perugia, and Gubbio; travel to the hilltop wine-producing town of Montefalco for tastings; dine at a famous truffle restaurant in the countryside; and more. Highlights include a pasta-making demo from Romana, Civitella Ranieri’s famous chef, and a visit to a farm, where we will pick olives. We will run group photography sessions that focus on expression, composition, and meaning.

Please email tour leader Sally Gall (sallygallstudio@gmail.com) of the International Center of Photography or Program Coordinator Molly Lapointe (molly@civitella.org) for more details. Read more on the International Center of Photography’s website here.
