Carlos Franz’s work has been translated into 11 languages and received important international awards. Among them, El desierto (2006) won the International Novel Prize La Nación of Buenos Aires (English translation: The Absent Sea, McPherson, 2011). His novel Si te vieras con mis ojos (2015) was awarded the Prize Bienal Vargas Llosa for Best Spanish Language Novel published in the years 2014-2016. Franz has been a resident fellow at the Bellagio Center of the Rockefeller Foundation (2012). He is a member of the Academia Chilena de la lengua and correspondent of the Real Academia Española.

Justine Gaga, Visual Arts

Justine Gaga lives and works in Douala, Cameroon. She is a multiform artist. The plinth of her work is the notion of loneliness with connected themes such as exile and immigration, as well as notions of psychological fences and borders. After high school, she participated in several creative residencies and trainings over four years in the workshop of viking and goddy leye (a contemporary laboratory for creation). She participated in the project Exit Tour at Artbakery. Her work has been shown in several countries including Cameroon, Colombia, Spain, the United States, France, Germany, Togo, Ghana, Senegal, and South Africa.
