A writer widely hailed as one of the leading lights of American fiction, Rachel Kushner (CRF 2016, Director’s Guest, 2019) will read from The Mars Room, the novel she finished at the castle three years ago.
Rachel Kushner’s most recent novel, The Mars Room, was a finalist for the 2018 Man Booker Prize, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and winner of the Prix Médicis Etranger. Kushner’s two previous novels, Telex from Cuba and The Flamethrowers, were both finalists for the National Book Award and New York Times bestsellers. Her books have been translated into 22 languages. Kushner’s fiction has appeared in the New Yorker, Harper’s, and the Paris Review. She is the recipient of a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship and the 2016 Harold D. Vursell Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She lives in Los Angeles.
