Civitella Ranieri Foundation presents the second edition of Casting the Castle, a project curated by Saverio Verini, scheduled for Saturday, June 22nd, 2019. As the title suggests, Casting the Castle will reveal an uncensored version of Civitella Ranieri by opening it to the public and unveiling its spaces, in the interest of strong visitor involvement and interaction. This project is structured in two parts: a series of performances by Cristian Chironi (DG 2012), Francesca Grilli (CRF 2017) and Cesare Pietroiusti (CRF 1996), and an exhibition of collages created by Mark Strand (DG 2008), one of the world’s most important contemporary poets. Both parts are scattered throughout the wonderful castle that, for the past 25 years, has functioned as a residency program for visual artists, writers, composers, and researchers from all over the world.

Performances by Cesare Pietroiusti and Francesca Grilli will allow 25 participants a time, at 10 minute intervals from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Space for Cristian Chironi’s performance has a closed number of participants, and is subject to reservation.
