Fiber artist Megan Koeppel, one of three finalists for the 17th-annual Janet and Walter Sondheim Art Prize (to assist in furthering the career of a Baltimore-based visual artist), was awarded a 2023 Civitella Ranieri Fellowship through our new affiliation with the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts. Senior Program Associate Hope Campbell Gustafson took the train down to Baltimore last week to see the finalists’ exhibition, say a few words at the award ceremony, and congratulate Megan at the Walters Art Museum.

As Megan told our colleagues at BOPA, “Taking part in the residency… [will] be an incredible, uninterrupted amount of time, to conduct research and gain a new perspective on Italian fiber art and female textile artists.”
