Feminist educator, visionary sculptor, and spiritual practitioner, Nancy Azara (CRF 2010), passed away on June 27th in Manhattan. The New York Times reports on Nancy’s death here. Crossing Over, a memorial celebration and exhibition to celebrate her life, spirit and art, will take place on September 18th through 21st at the Byrdcliffe Kleinert/ James Center for the Arts in Woodstock, NY.

Nancy’s work opened portals between art and spirit, rooted in memory, the divine feminine, and nature. A curated selection of her carved wood sculptures, scrolls, mixed media collages, prints and banners, alongside shared moments of remembrance and ritual will be featured in the gathering. Nancy’s beloved partner of over 40 years, Darla Bjork, will present new work created in the wake of Nancy’s crossing, a moving dialogue between devotion, grief and artistic spirit. Learn more here.
