September 1, 2026 — Congratulations to Claudia Durastanti (CRF 2022) on the publication of her first collection of essays Falsi amici (La nave di Teseo) released today in Italy.

Across eleven narrative essays, Claudia considers subjects ranging from literature and politics to the body, motherhood, violence, and relationships between women and men. The essays bring together seemingly disparate figures and subjects—including Piero della Francesca, Amy Winehouse, Cesare Pavese, and Lolita—using the color pink as a recurring lens through which to examine contemporary life and power.

With Falsi amici, Claudia brings the intimate and analytical approach of her fiction and autofiction into the territory of narrative nonfiction, reflecting on her own intellectual and personal experience alongside broader questions of culture and politics.

Complimenti, Claudia!
