I came to Civitella Ranieri with my partner and collaborator, Sheila Pepe, to prepare for an exhibition. During the six-week residency, we researched and completed a 26-drawing project inspired by religious buildings in Campania, Lazio and Umbria. Everything about the experience (from the castle lodgings and studios to the exquisite meals to the day trips to see incredible art and architecture) feels like it was designed with artists in mind.
