Claire Hynes writes fiction, non-fiction, essays, and theatre monologues. Her writing has appeared in Wasafiri journal of international contemporary writing, Bath Short Story Award Anthology, and Lighthouse literary journal, among other publications. Her theatre monologues have been performed at the Contact Theatre, Manchester. Claire has won an Arts Council England award and a Commonword monologue writing award, and she been listed for the Bath Short Story Award. Claire is an Associate Professor in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. She previously worked as an award-winning BBC filmmaker and a print journalist. Her writing explores questions of place, space, and belonging.
