Allowing the mind and ear to wander until they find what they hear within was a true challenge. I take Civitella with me in the music I composed there; I carry a score filled with music, with the lights and shadows of the castle, with the songs of the surrounding birds, and with what the silence of the place helped me hear within. The gentle Umbertide hills surrounding Civitella Ranieri Castle provided the setting for a challenging and powerful experience of discovery.
