Hope Campbell Gustafson
Hope Campbell Gustafson was thrice an intern at the Castle (2012, 2014, 2017), and began working at Civitella New York in 2018. She also translates Italian prose—her book-length translations include The Lake’s Water is Never Sweet (Spiegel & Grau) by Giulia Caminito, Commander of the River (Indiana University Press) by Ubah Cristina Ali Farah, and Islands—New Islands: A Vagabond Guide to Rome (Fontanella Press) by Marco Lodoli. Hope has an MFA in Literary Translation from the University of Iowa and a BA from Wesleyan University.Â
