Idza Luhumyo (b.1993) is a Kenyan writer with training in screenwriting and a background in law. Her artistic practice lies at the intersection of law, film, and literature. In 2022, she won the Caine Prize for African Writing for her short story “Five Years Next Sunday.” In May 2024, she graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from Texas State University, where she currently works as a lecturer. She is working on her first novel.
