There comes a time in every artist’s journey where the need to revisit the ethos underlying their creative practice arises. I am very fortunate to have had the magical Civitella Ranieri as a most wondrous backdrop for this crucial artistic self-interrogation. It is a wonder how much has been clarified for me in just six weeks: the direction of my manuscript; the philosophies buttressing my artistic preoccupations; my abiding faith in what art can do in the world. I leave rejuvenated, forever touched by the Civitella spirit.
