Civitella Ranieri was a parenthesis in my daily life that will unlikely be repeated, and one that was entirely positive, both personally and professionally. I worked, I made friends, and I felt immersed in an environment of generosity and of intelligent comprehension (divination, rather) of the often-contradictory necessities (manias?) of a writer during intense periods of creativity: company and solitude, conversation and silence, distraction and concentration, reflection and encouragement. It is a place physically just as beautiful as the hospitality it carries out as an institution. Thank you.
