The staff at Civitella does everything possible to facilitate a perfect working environment for artist residents. The atmosphere of respect for creative endeavor permeates all aspects of the residency; conversations, field trips, lectures and facilities. I will cherish my time here. Unencumbered by external pressures and inspired by the rich visual environment, I made a group of gouache paintings and drawings based on the visual environment of the castle and surrounding area. The atmosphere of the castle and it’s terrific residents provide a rich stimulus for creative work.
