Joel Janowitz
Working with oil, watercolor, or monotype, Joel Janowitz weaves together observation and abstraction, feeling and memory to create contemplative works that invite us to see the everyday world anew. Janowitz has exhibited his artwork both nationally and internationally with over fifty solo exhibitions. His work is held in many public collections including the Whitney Museum, the MET, and the MFA Boston. He has taught at Wellesley College, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Princeton University, and Brown University. Janowitz is a recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship in painting.
