From the Northern MidAtlantic region of the United States, Kyrae Dawaun is demonstrating an expansion of painting history and milieu, leading a conceptual practice toiling in the chemistries of earthen, organic, and synthetic material matter, for paint technologies, the creation of objects, and choreographed exhibitions. His work is critical of national priority in dominion and competition. He uses metaphor found in material studies to prompt questions about these social dynamics. He received his MFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020. He currently resides in Washington D.C.
