I came here exhausted from teaching, from NYC, and from American life. The castle gave me refuge, silence, beauty, space, and time. The Fellows gave me support and nourishing conversations. Within the silence and hours, the long walk, and the hours alone at my desk I was resuscitated. Finally, I was able to turn to a project I’d been resisting and found a way into it. I leave here with the first draft of that project completed, and with new enthusiasm and hope.
