Mark Doty
Mark Doty (1953) is the author of several poetry collections, most recently Deep Lane; A Swarm, A Flock, A Host: A Compendium of Creatures; and Fire to Fire: New and Selected Poems, recipient of the National Book Award. Other collections include Atlantis, recipient of the Ambassador Book Award, the Bingham Poetry Prize, and a Lambda Literary Award, and My Alexandria, which received the National Book Critics Circle Award and the T. S. Eliot Prize, and was a National Book Award finalist. His memoirs include Heaven’s Coast, recipient of the PEN/Martha Albrand Award, as well as Still Life with Oysters and Lemon: On Objects and Intimacy, and Dog Years. Doty has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Whiting Foundation.
