Njabulo Phungula is a composer from Durban, South Africa. He writes music that explores intrapersonal communication and identity, and metatextuality. His works have been performed by Klangforum Wien, ensemble recherche, International Contemporary Ensemble, Yarn/Wire, JACK Quartet, Odeion String Quartet, PULSE, Mizar Trio, Stephanie Lamprea, and Midori Samson, and have been featured at festivals such as ‘Always, Already There,’ Cortona Sessions, Deep Time, impuls, ISCM World New Music Days, National Arts Festival, Wien Modern, and Unyazi Music Festival:Infrastructures.
