My time at Civitella has been one of the most productive and nurturing periods of my life as a writer. I was able to find a deep and sustained focus that has been neary impossible lin the year of the pandemic, a year that has marked all of us, and the world, forever. I wish that everyone who has suffered through 2020 was able to come here to find this balance of quiet beauty and the stimulation of working in the company of these extraordinary writers and artists. I will carry this time and place within me forever, and may everyone find their own Civitella.
