Sungji Hong has received notable honors, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Charles Ives Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She’s been commissioned by the Fromm Music Foundation at Harvard University, the National Flute Association, the Tongyeong International Music Festival, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Her work “Missa Lumen de Lumine,” performed by Trio Mediaeval, reached the top ten on the Billboard Classical Chart and iTunes. Hong holds degrees from Hanyang University, the Royal Academy of Music, and the University of York in the UK.
