Massinissa Selmani (CRF 2021) was a finalist for this year’s Marcel Duchamp Prize, the top prize for contemporary art in France. His project, “Une parcelle d’horizon au milieu du jour” (“A Parcel of Horizon in the Middle of the Day”) is on view at Paris’ Pompidou Center through January 2024. It features drawn forms in a range of mediums, from paper to film, sculpture to mural. Selmani pulls from photographs, news clippings, and poetic texts to create fictional territories and imaginary conflicts, oscillating between the tragic and the absurd.
