Join us Monday, August 2nd at the Castle for presentations by current Fellows Gianni Moretti & Matthew Ricketts.

Gianni Moretti, Visual Arts, Italy
Born in Perugia in 1978, Gianni Moretti lives and works in Milan. Drawings and installations, as well as relational art practices and public monuments, are the main media and forms used in his research, which is focused on the strength, limits and shadows of different kinds of organisms. His works are exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including two Biennale di Venezia Collateral Events. They are also part of private and public collections. He collaborated with theater, public and private institutions and took part in several artist-in-residence programs. He is professor in LABA, Brescia.

Matthew Ricketts, Music, Canada
Matthew Ricketts is a Canadian composer currently based in Brooklyn (NY). His music has been noted for its “hypnotically churning exploration of melody” (ICareIfYouListen) and its “tart harmonies and perky sputterings” (The New York Times). He is a 2020 Gaudeamus Prize nominee and a 2019 Guggenheim Fellow. Matthew has received fellowships from The American Academy of Arts and Letters (2020), MacDowell (2019), Tanglewood (2018), and the Aspen Music Festival (2016). Matthew holds degrees from McGill and Columbia University, where he served as Core Lecturer from 2017-2019.
