December 11th, 2025 — Civitella alum and (only!) Umbrian Fellow Gianni Moretti’s (CRF 2021) upcoming solo exhibition Simile a un riverbero at Palazzo della Penna Centro per le Arti Contemporanee in Perugia opens on Thursday,December 18th at 6pm.
About the Show
Palazzo della Penna closes its first year of exhibitions on the ground floor with Gianni’s show, his first solo exhibition at the Center. The works, created between 2009 and 2025, reflect years of research focused on the relationship between body and memory. Designed and created specifically by the artist, the exhibition presents itself as a “restitution” of his work through ten pieces that establish a dialogue with the surrounding space. Added to these is an eleventh, previously unseen project, which Gianni Moretti conceived specifically for the city of Perugia. He has not revealed anything about it, leaving it for visitors to discover at the end of the exhibition.
In each of these works, the artist has felt and interpreted the viewer’s body as a “reverberation” space, as per the title, in which the art work echoes and multiplies. The result is an exhibition that takes shape through respect and listening to the body of the Other, from whom he demands time and attention.
The exhibition catalog features an essay by Saverio Verini, Civitella Advisory Council member and Director of Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto.
