The New York Times Opinion page recently published a piece by Jennifer Finney-Boylan (DG 2021) in which the author reflects on both bullies and allies to trans people, announces her retirement from the column, and mentions a forthcoming book this fall, a novel entitled Mad Honey which she will co-author with Jodi Picoult.
“I have a message for all those who would rather leave me out of the American story: I am not an attack on God’s creation. I am someone whom God has made, just like this. It may be that there is no room for me in your view of the world. But the world contains all sorts of miracles: the wombat and the seahorse and the night-blooming cereus.
