Following a decade-long engagement in Hudson, NY, Jonah Bokaer (CRF 2016) Arts Foundation launches The Hudson Eye from August 23 to September 2, 2019curated by Aaron Levi Garvey. This annual 10-day public program and urban showcase with a focus on dance, music, performance, film, visual art, dining and nightlife will serve as a celebratory close to Hudson’s peak tourism weekend of the summer, with local artists.

For nearly 200 years since the founding of the Hudson River School, the city and region of Hudson have been a source of inspiration for artists to live, work, commune, create, find shelter, renew – and seek a sustainable creative sanctuary. Building on Hudson’s heritage of creativity, The Hudson Eye will feature Hudson-based local artists as well as returning artists within a 10 day curated program. Artwork, Choreography, and Performances are curated into a multi-venue municipal exhibition – bolstered with “Hot Topics” public panels each day, featuring local issues of concern. Evenings will spotlight local restaurants  bars, and underground alternative spaces, such as Jonah’s own Space 428 Hudson, realized with 4 International prizes carefully steered into the local Hudson economy.

Dates: August 23rd – September 2nd, 2019

Artists-In-Residence: Chez Bushwick Program – Brooklyn Residencies 2002-2019

A longstanding program since 2002, widely acknowledged as a founding force for the affordable space movement, quarterly Artists-In-Residence are curated through an open application process with jury feedback. Final selections are chosen by a panel of industry professionals. Applications are based on existing exposure of the artist, the quality of the application, a work sample, and the project proposed. The Brooklyn studio and programs have remained stable on their prices and programs since their inception in 2002 – thanks to an economic Business Plan designed by Wolf Brown, and the Board Of Directors.
