Judith Hudson (DG 2009) has a solo exhibition, “Eat The Ice Cream Before It Melts” on view at Tripoli Gallery in Wainscott, New York through July 22nd. Hudson, in her artist statement for the show, says:

“I know humans have a 100% mortality rate. I am in denial. Life is sweet, getting shorter, but I am determined to keep my sense of humor and go down trying. In these paintings, I use skeletons and spilled wine and leftovers and sex to talk about this absurd and precarious position we are all in. Sex is never just about sex. It is about life. The character in the paintings makes friends with the darkness and loss — dancing until she drops. Waltzing the rhumba.”
