Kweku Abimbola, Writing, USA/Gambia (he/him)
Kweku Abimbola is a poet, professor, and performer from Bakau, The Gambia. His debut collection, Saltwater Demands a Psalm, was awarded the 2022 Academy of American Poets First Book Award, selected by Tyehima Jess. His work strives to decolonize language and center black spirit and black sound.
Allison Amend, Writing, USA (she/her)
Allison Amend is the author of the award-winning short story collection Things That Pass for Love and the novels A Nearly Perfect Copy and Stations West, which was a finalist for the Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature and the Oklahoma Book Award. A graduate of Stanford University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Allison teaches creative writing at Lehman College in New York City and at the Red Earth MFA.
