Maaza Mengiste’s “The Shadow King” Recipient of the Premio Gregor von Rezzori literary award

Maaza Mengiste’s (Incoming Writing Fellow 2022) novel “The Shadow King” was announced recipient of the 15th edition of Premio Gregor von Rezzori literary award. An American writer born in Ethiopia, Mengiste’s novel delves deep into the history of war in Ethiopia. It was named best book of the year by the New York Times, NPR, Elle, Time, and more.
