Current Fellow Stacy Lynn Waddell (CRF 2022) recently shared her news with us.
An Artist-in-residence at Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Waddell conceived the installation Home House for the Museum’s Anne H. Fitzpatrick Façade. This work featuring a photograph of her dearly loved grandmother honors her memory in a way that speaks to the lasting impact of portraiture. Home House can be enjoyed until Februrary 7, 2023 by all on the exterior of the Gardner building on Evans Way and by ticketed visitors from inside the Museum’s walled garden. Additional works by Waddell are featured in the exhibition Metal of Honor: Gold from Simone Martini to Contemporary Art on view at the Gardener through January 16, 2023. This exhibition explores how four artists of different times and different places use gold as an artistic strategy for innovation and honor. More information here.
Waddell’s work is also featured in the exhibition Gilded: Contemporary Artists Explore Value and Worth at the Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro, NC. On view until April 8, 2023, this exhibit includes works by contemporary artists who turn to gilding as a means to reconsider our value systems. Learn more on Gilded here.
