Tune in tonight, January 28th, at 8pm EST / 7pm CST / 5pm PST for an evening of poetry readings hosted by this year’s Unbound Book Festival. Jay Deshpande (CRF 2018), Jenny Xie (CRF 2018), and Claire Wahmanholm will be reading their work. Jay Deshpande is the author of Love the Stranger and the new chapbook The Umbrian Sonnets, a collection which is set against the Italian countryside and inspired by the poet’s time at Civitella. His poems have appeared in American Poetry Review, New England Review, and elsewhere. Jenny Xie is the author of Eye Level, a finalist for the National Book Award and the recipient of the Walt Whitman Award of the Academy of American Poets and the Holmes National Poetry Prize. Her chapbook, NOWHERE TO ARRIVE received the Drinking Gourd Prize and in 2020 she was awarded the Vilcek Prize in Creative Promise. Claire Wahmanholm is the author of Redmouth and Wilder, which won the 2018 Lindquist & Vennum Prize for Poetry, the Society of Midland Authors Award for Poetry, and was a finalist for the 2019 Minnesota Book Award.
