The Consulate General of Italy & the Italian Cultural Institute have announced a preview with selections of the new American Opera “The Garden of the Finzi-Continis” by Ricky Ian Gordon (CRF 2009), based on the novel by Giorgio Bassani. The opera features Tatev Baroyan (soprano), Jeremy Brauner (tenor), Kathryn Olander (pianist); there will be a brief presentation by Michael Capasso (Director), Michael Korie (Librettist), and Ricky Ian Gordon (Composer). The preview will take place on January 14, 2022 at 6PM at the Italian Cultural Institute, 686 Park Avenue in NYC. The event will be streamed live on IIC YouTube channel and will remain available.
The New York City Opera, in co-production with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene opens “The Garden of the Finzi-Continis” on Wednesday, January 19th for 8 performances only through Sunday, January 30th at Edmond J. Safra Hall at the Museum of Jewish Heritage- A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. For more information click here.
