Join us Thursday, July 15th at the Castle for presentations by current Fellows, Shadi Harouni & Eric Van Hove.

Shadi Harouni, Fellow (Visual Arts, Iran/USA)
Shadi Harouni is a visual artist based in New York. Harouni’s practice ranges from architectural interventions and sculptures, to printmaking, photography and film. Her research is centered on disavowed histories of dissent and resistance, chiefly in her ancestral Kurdistan. Her work and writing have been featured in Art Forum, New York Times, The Guardian, among other publications. She has been awarded a Gattuso Prize, Harpo Award, residencies at Skowhegan, SOMA, Fondazione Ratti. Harouni is a Professor and Head of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Art at New York University.

Eric Van Hove, Fellow (Visual Arts, Belgium/Morocco)
Eric van Hove (born in Guelma/Algeria, lives and work in Marrakesh/Morocco) is a Belgian conceptual artist. Considered by a growing number of critics as a post-conceptualist and a metamodernist, his recent work uses craft as a conceptual medium to ponder the legacy of modernism and post-modernism. He is presently working on The Mahjouba Initiative: an ambitious five-year project aiming to conceive a functioning electric moped for the local African Market combining craft, 3D printing and industrial output.
