Silvia Colasanti (CRF 2007)’s opera Proserpine will inaugurate the kick off of the “Festival dei 2 Mondi,” which runs from the 28th of June to the 14th of July in Spoleto.
La compositrice romana prosegue dunque la sua trilogia sul mito (l’opera precedente era Minotauro, che ha inaugurato la scorsa edizione del festival) e questa volta si è ispirata al poema drammatico di Mary Shelley, adattato da René de Ceccatty e Giorgio Ferrara, che hanno mantenuto la lingua originale inglese. Come dice la Colasanti, l’attenzione di quest’opera in due atti “si concentra sui personaggi femminili, in particolare su Cerere, sottolineando, più che la violenza del ratto, la separazione tra madre e figlia, l’amore di una madre che sfida il potere degli dei e la forza e la solidarietà offerta da una comunità di donne”. /
