Sonya Clark: We Are Each Other, the first comprehensive survey of the communal projects at the heart of the Sonya Clark’s (CRF 2012, Juror) pioneering practice, will be on view at the Museum of Arts and Design through September 22nd, 2024. Accompanied by a selection of photographs, prints, and sculpture, the exhibition features large-scale, collaborative projects, including Clark’s The Hair Craft Project (2014) and a performance piece titled Unraveling. Working with a range of emotionally resonant materials and everyday objects, Clark’s work encourages audiences to confront historical imbalances and racial injustices through material transformation.
