Spirits of Civitella

“Civitella is an extraordinary, generative place. Giving my bit of a contribution every month is a gesture of gratitude, but also something for the way of the future, a forwardness. The gifts of time and affirmation to emerging artists are no small thing. It’s a kind of world building.“

Mark Doty (Director's Guest 2021)

PROVIDE THE MONTHLY SUPPORT NEEDED FOR ARTISTS TO DEVELOP WHAT COMES NEXT.

For more than 30 years, Civitella has created the time, space, and care artists need to dream, create, and collaborate. Within its fortified walls, artists step away from the demands of daily life and are free to take risks, work in concentration, and connect with artists across disciplines from around the world. Our staff designs every detail of this environment around the needs of each artist and continues to support their careers beyond residency.

This ongoing care is the spirit of Civitella. The same is true of the support required to keep our mission alive—become a Spirit of Civitella! Staying connected to the Castle year-round provides a uniquely meaningful impact Civitellians can rely on.

Don’t go a day without supporting what keeps the Civitella spirit alive:
