All of us at the Civitella Ranieri Foundation in Italy are horrified by the attack on our most recent Director’s Guest, Salman Rushdie. Just hours before this unprecedented violence against a writer in America, Salman had written to me about identifying Ukrainian writers in need of support. One writer helping others. Please keep Salman in your thoughts as he undergoes surgery and please stand strong for the rights of all writers everywhere to say what needs to be said.
