Gioconda Belli is a Nicaraguan poet, novelist, and activist. She took part in the Sandinista Revolution and later became a strong critic of the Ortega regime. She has received major awards, including the Premio Biblioteca Breve, the Reina Sofía Ibero-American Poetry Prize, and the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize. Her work has been translated into more than twenty languages. In 2023, she was stripped of her nationality for her political stance. She lives in exile in Madrid.

Hernan Diaz, Writing

Hernan Diaz is the Pulitzer Prize–winning and New York Times bestselling author of Trust, one of The New York Times’ 100 Best Books of the Century. His previous novel, In the Distance, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award. He has received the John Updike Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Kirkus Award, a Whiting Award, and a fellowship from the New York Public Library’s Cullman Center. His work has been translated into thirty-seven languages.
