Mavis Tauzeni
Visual Arts, Zimbabwe
Mavis Tauzeni’s deeply personal work in print and mixed media moves viewers to meditate and reflect on their inner self in the same way that Tauzeni herself reflects on her inner world. Speaking unapologetically from a woman’s perspective, she constantly reflects on the mutable relationship between a woman, her potential, and her daily life. Tauzeni earned a National Certificate in Fine Art from the National Gallery of Zimbabwe Visual Arts Studios and her work has been shown in both solo and group exhibitions in Paris, Harare, Australia, Johannesburg, and more. Her accolades include awards from the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee, Gallery Delta, and the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, among others.
