Join us on Monday, June 26th at 6:00 PM at the Civitella Ranieri Castle for Ann Cleare & Liz Collins’ Presentations.
Ann Cleare, Music, Ireland (she/her)
Ann Cleare is an artist and technologist, creating and researching through the medium of sound. She is particularly fascinated by timbre (the color of sound) and texture (the physicality of sound), and how these parameters can be utilized with technology to explore places, people, and ideas through sound. An internationally recognized composer, Ann’s work has been presented by major broadcasters such as the BBC, NPR, ORF, RTÉ, SWR, and WDR. Her scores are published by Project Schott New York. She is Assistant Professor of Music and Media Technologies at Trinity College Dublin.
Liz Collins, Visual Arts, USA (she/her)
Liz Collins is a New York based queer feminist artist who works across art and design with a broad range of textile techniques and materials to make paintings, drawings, and fiber works that vary in scale and form. In Collins’ work, assertive and bold colors and patterns come together with both gusty and refined materials in abstract expressionist, op, pop, and surrealist vernaculars. She exhibits her work in galleries and museums around the world and collaborates with textile manufacturers to produce both designs for the market as well as for her artworks and installations.
