Several Civitellians were nominated for 2025 Grammy Awards:
“Beaufort Scales,” composed by Chris Cerrone for the Lorelei Ensemble, was nominated for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance. Last Spring, the video album of this performance premiered at Civitella’s 28 Hubert Street office.
Jamila Woods’ (CRF 2023) song “Bugs” earned Alissia a nomination for Producer of the Year (non-classical).
Esperanza Spalding (CRF 2018) and Milton Nascimento were nominated for Best Jazz Vocal Album for their album “Milton + Esperanza”
Gabriela Ortíz’s (CRF 2009) album “Ortíz: Revolución Diamantina” was nominated for 5 Grammy Awards, for Best Orchestral Performance, Best Classical Compendium, Best Contemporary Classical Composition, Best Engineered Album (Classical), and Producer of the Year (Classical) for Dimitry Lipay.
