Jerome Kitzke’s (CRF 2003, DG 2017) new work “I Am Waiting,” commissioned by the NakedEye Ensemble and featuring guest actor/singe Lisa Karrer, will premiere in Media, PA on March 10th. There will be a second performance in Lancaster, PA on March 16th. NakedEye Artistic Director, Ju-Ping Song, fashioned a concert called “Pity the Nation” after one of the two Ferlinghetti poems featured in Kitzke’s piece. Originally written as a pre-2020 election anti-Trump statement, “I Am Waiting” stands today as a work that leans hard against all that the 45th president has wrought.
Also on the program is the world premiere of The Secret of Growth by Theresa Wong (CRF 2012).
