Join Civitella NYC on Tuesday, November 10th at 28 Hubert Street for an intimate program with composer Matthew Ricketts (CRF 2021) & poet Mark Wunderlich (CRF 2014, DG 2016), in celebration of the sold-out October world premiere of Matthew’s work for tenor and harp, set to text by Mark, at the Morgan Library & Museum.
Looking Everywhere for You is a meditation on the life and legacy of American photographer Peter Hujar, the subject of a major exhibition now at the Morgan. The piece started with ekphrastic poems by Mark inspired by the exhibition.
Mark and Matthew came to know each other through Civitella, and during this evening the artists will talk about both the piece premiering at the Morgan and an earlier collaboration, Contrition / Portrait of Mary Magdalene after Piero della Francesca, which was dedicated to Dana Prescott, Civitella’s Executive Director Emerita.
