Join Civitella NYC on Tuesday, November 10th at 28 Hubert Street for an intimate program with composer Matthew Ricketts (CRF 2021) &poet Mark Wunderlich (CRF 2014, DG 2016) in celebration of the sold out October world premiere of a work for tenor and harp at the Morgan Library & Museum.

Mark and Matthew’s concert collaboration at the Morgan—born from Civitella—is presented in conjunction with Hujar:Contact, an unprecedented look into the creative process and evolution of photographer Peter Hujar. The concert, a weaving of queer voices, started with ekphrastic poems by Mark about the exhibition. Setting them to music for harp and tenor, Matthew composed Looking Everywhere for You, a meditation on Hujar’s life and legacy.

The evening at 28 Hubert will showcase excerpts of the piece and Matthew & Mark’s first work together, Contrition / Portrait of Mary Magdalene after Piero della Francesca, Mark’s poetry, images from Hujar:Contact, a conversation between Matthew & Mark, and an audience Q&A.
