Gohar Dashti

Gohar Dashti earned her M.A. in photography from Tehran University of Art in 2005. Over 19 years, she has focused on large-scale photography, addressing social issues. Her work blends history, culture, and anthropological perspectives, employing a theatrical aesthetic. Recently, she has explored the connection between nature and human migrations. Her art questions the reach of nature across cultural and political boundaries. Her works are housed in collections worldwide, including V&A, Smithsonian Museum, MFA Boston, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, MoCP Chicago, Harvard University, and Getty Institute.

Major Jackson
Writing, USA

Major Jackson is the author of six books of poetry, most recently Razzle Dazzle: New & Selected Poems. He is also the author of A Beat Beyond: The Selected Prose of Major Jackson edited by Amor Kohli. A recipient of fellowships from the Academy of American Poets, John S. Guggenheim Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, Major Jackson is the Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Chair in the Humanities at Vanderbilt University. He is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He serves as the Poetry Editor of The Harvard Review.
