Daniel Díaz Mantilla, Writing, Cuba, (he/him)
Daniel Díaz Mantilla (Havana, 1970) has published Las palmeras domésticas (short stories, 1996), en·trance (short novel, 1998), Templos y turbulencias (poetry, 2004), Regreso a Utopía (novel, 2008), Los senderos despiertos (poetry, 2009), El salvaje placer de explorar (short stories, 2014), Gravitaciones (poetry, 2018), and De la evolución de las esferas (poetry, 2023). His essays, short stories and poems have been published in several magazines and anthologies in Europe and theAmericas. He was recognized with the Alejo Carpentier Award in 2014 and the Cuban Critics Award in 2015.
Tara Westover*, Writing, USA, (she/her)
Tara Westover is an American memoirist. Her first book, Educated, was a finalist for a number of literary awards, including the L.A. Times Book Prize, the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award.To date it has been translated into more than 45 languages. The New York Times named Educated one of the 10 Best Books of 2018, and the American Booksellers Association voted Educated the Nonfiction Book of the Year. Time Magazine named Westover one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2019, and in 2023, she was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Biden.
